My Story
Since the age of 12, I have suffered from acne or food intolerances. It was deeply embarrassing and always left me feeling shy and uncomfortable in social situations. In my early teens, I did everything (or so I thought) to help my skin. I tried Proactive, cutting out fried food and chocolate, and all the creams, lotions, and potions I could get my hands on.
In my 20’s, my digestive and liver health took a bigger toll on my health as I suffered from depression and hormonal fluctuations. This led me to explore more natural solutions, as the conventional methods were not working for me. (Hello birth control pill and anti-depressant prescriptions for EVERYONE!!).
After attending the Dietitian program at Ryerson University in Toronto, I decided to take a break and enrolled in the Prana Yoga College in Vancouver.
The mind body harmony techniques I discovered there forever changed the trajectory of my health and career. You see, it’s not just about the food you eat or supplements you take. If you don’t have the stress management and emotional connection piece, your body can’t heal.
From there I enrolled at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition in Toronto and began my own digestive and hormonal health journey as I changed my diet and lifestyle over the course of 2 years. I finally started to feel like myself again, but digestive system was strengthening, my skin was healing and so was my mental health.
It wasn’t an overnight fix, but the more I understood about the body, the synchronicity of the whole system, and the body, body, spirit connection, the more I was able to pivot my own healing journey.
I want the same for you, which I why I created this program to walk you through the process step by step. So you can learn, implement, and heal.
After studying with renowned Functional Medical Nutritionist Andrea Nakayama and completing her Holistic Nutrition Lab Digestive Intensive Program, I put together the Digestive Wellness Program outlined below.
