I’m a big fan of making my own dairy free milks. They are much more nutritious than store bought varieties, which often contain additives like sugar and carrageenan (which can cause digestive upset in sensitive people). In a perfect world, I would have a constant flow of the good stuff but it’s often just not possible. It does take a bit of extra time and effort to soak, squeeze and milk those nuts!
Recently, this has been my go to recipe for the quickest and most delicious coconut milk. Just blend up some coconut butter!!
Coconut butter is different from coconut oil. Coconut butter is made of the whole coconut – meat and oil, whereas coconut oil is just the expelled oil. So get yourself a jar of this goodness and blend yourself some milk!
Quick and Delicious Coconut Milk
You will want to make this detoxifying and metabolism boosting coconut milk in small batches because it hardens when you put it in the fridge!
- 1/4 cup coconut butter
- 1.5 cups hot water
- Pinch sea sal
How to make:
Add all ingredients into a blender and buzz until smooth.
Makes 1-2 servings
