As someone who has had skin issues (acne) for most of my life, I’m always fascinated with how to use different foods to help skin look it’s most amazing. One commonality with all skin conditions, like aging skin, sun damage, eczema, and acne, is that vitamin C always tops the list as a potent antioxidant and healer of wounds.
Since vitamin C in a water soluble vitamin, it’s best to get it from the freshest sources, as heat and light can decrease it’s potency. Picking fresh organic produce and eating it within days is best, but freezing is another way to preserve it’s nutritional value.
In my previous article, I talked about the importance of antioxidants, vitamin C, omega 3 fatty acids and collagen for skin health, so I decided to share a seasonal recipe with you as well!
The smoothie below has loads of vitamin C, antioxidants, vitamin A, collagen, and omegas! All the goodness you need for beautiful skin from within.
Enjoy!
