In my last newsletter I shared some exciting details about the next upcoming challenge I have in store for you guys. This time it’s all about getting your glow on, working from the inside out! The reason I’m focusing this challenge on our skin health is because of my own struggles with acne from my early teens until my late twenties. I wasn’t blessed with gorgeous naturally clear skin and it’s something that I have to continually work on to make sure I look and feel my best.
For years I took the victim approach. It silently made me a little angry each time one of my gorgeous friends with perfect skin would complain about a little blemish or dry skin. I spent so much time, effort and money on skin care and products and nothing would work. As a teenager, it was devastating. As a twenty something it was frustrating and not to mention embarrassing! Everywhere I would look for answers I got the same sad advice ~ use this product, don’t eat chocolate, don’t eat french fries, don’t put oil on your face, etc. Nothing was working!!
That is until I starting digging deep and making the connection between food and the state of my health. When I started doing research I was so mesmerized at how interconnected the body was and how each organ is interdependent on the others. And the most amazing part was that food plays a major roll in delegating the health of every single cell in the body. WOW! A big light went off in my head and I was hooked!! From that moment on I had such a love and appreciation for the nourishment that is offered to us from whole foods, natural supplements and herbs. And my journey began to become a holistic nutritionist. I wanted to shout it from rooftops, to help people make the same connection and start to look at food from the perspective of healing and health rather than calories in calories out. Nutrition matters, and you probably know from experience that when your diet suffers, your health suffers. Whatever your weak point is, whether it’s digestion or skin health, the symptoms will return until you gain control over your food and lifestyle choices.
As you know, I’m all about helping you feel good from the inside out and getting to the root cause of health concerns. This October I will be tackling our most visible organ – the skin!
