Whole-person care

A thoughtful approach that starts by listening

No two people experience pain, stress, sleep changes or hormonal transitions in quite the same way. Your care begins with time to understand what you are feeling, what may be contributing and what you want to change.

Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all protocol, Annaliisa selects points and supportive modalities for your current pattern. Her dual background in acupuncture and holistic nutrition also makes it possible to connect treatment-room care with realistic food and lifestyle strategies when they are useful.

  • Gentle, individualized needling
  • Nervous-system-aware care
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine assessment
  • Clear explanations and practical next steps

Credentials you can trust

  • Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac.) in British Columbia
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture diploma, with Distinction, Kwantlen Polytechnic University
  • Certified Holistic Nutritionist (CNP), Honours graduate of the Institute of Holistic Nutrition
  • Certified Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture practitioner
  • Additional study in hormone health, digestive health, functional testing and TCM dietary therapy

Talk through your health

You will review your main concerns, health history, sleep, digestion, stress, medications and goals. Bring recent blood work and a list of medications or supplements if available.

Create your treatment

Annaliisa may include a TCM tongue and pulse assessment, then explains the recommended treatment and checks your comfort before beginning.

Frequently asked questions

South Surrey acupuncture FAQs

Does acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture needles are very fine. Many people feel little or no discomfort on insertion, although brief sensations such as heaviness, warmth or tingling can occur. Annaliisa uses a gentle approach and checks your comfort throughout.

How many acupuncture appointments will I need?

It depends on how long the concern has been present, its complexity and how your body responds. After the initial assessment, Annaliisa will recommend a plan. A series of approximately four to eight treatments is common, with progress reviewed along the way.

What should I wear and how should I prepare?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing and eat a light meal or snack beforehand. Avoid arriving very hungry. Bring your benefit information, a medication and supplement list, and recent blood work if it is relevant to your concerns.

Can the clinic direct bill my extended-health plan?

Direct billing is available for most eligible plans. Your insurer determines coverage, limits and deductibles, so please confirm acupuncture benefits with your provider and bring your plan details.

When is Annaliisa in the South Surrey clinic?

Annaliisa sees patients at Semiahmoo Wellness Centre on Tuesdays and Fridays. The clinic operates from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; exact appointment availability is shown in the online booking calendar.
